The Psychology Behind The Narcissist’s Infidelity And Their Manipulative Tactics
Usually, narcissists have a high level of superiority and need validation continuously. Thus, it can push them to look for validation outside their relationships. This eventually influences them to cheat on their partners because of their constant need for external validation and affection to boost their egos.
Most notably, narcissists behave this way because they lack empathy. They don’t understand or respect how their partner feels, so they easily deceive their partners and act dishonestly without feeling any regret. As they are not emotionally attached to their partners, they usually rationalize their unfaithful behavior. Also, they only care about their own needs and don’t consider what their partner wants.
Apart from these, narcissists are entitled and often think that they should be treated exceptionally by everyone around them. Additionally, they also believe that they don’t have to follow any rules like others. Because of this self-importance and arrogance, they think it’s justified to cheat on their partners. Besides, they perceive their behaviors as admissible but they hold their partner to a different standard.
