If you ever feel attacked by a narcissist then you must know that their behavior is only exposing their insecurities and flaws. It has nothing to do with you. By attacking you they are showing that you have something that they are insecure about.
The narcissists are deeply insecure about themselves. This is why they are always scared to lose whatever they have. If you have any quality that the narcissist lacks he/she will try his/her best to make you feel inferior about it.
For instance, if you are an intellectual person they will make you feel you are the stupid one. They do this kind of behaviour to feel good about themselves. So, you have to remember any attack by the narcissist is not an attack on you, it is merely a portrayal of their insecurities.
