How To Be Assertive Without Being Arrogant?

My personal insights as an assertive person

If someone is assertive, it is sometimes considered egotistical and disrespectful. But in reality, that person is merely stating his or her ideas and perceptions. Being assertive means a person stands for something. Thus, it should be considered as an asset, not something to be liable for.

Although assertiveness portrays that the person is self-confident. Still, that person should be respectful towards other people and their viewpoints while expressing their bold and assertive opinions.

I believe being assertive doesn’t mean you are arrogant. Assertiveness should not be confused with arrogance. Because, assertiveness usually generates respect, and arrogance, on the other hand, is superficial and fake.

As Shakespeare once famously quoted,

“ To thine own self be true and it will follow as the night the day

Thou canst then be false to any man”
