3 Effective Ways To Use Deadlines To Increase Your Productivity
Deadlines don’t always have to be stressful or cause of our anxiety. If we can effectively utilize deadlines, it can be beneficial for us.
In order to achieve that, we have to observe the positive sides of deadlines. For instance, deadlines usually encourage people to finish tasks that lessen the chance of procrastination.
By implementing these following tactics, it is possible to utilize Deadlines that will increase your productivity:
1) State the goals of your tasks clearly
You can do this by setting up your own specific deadline. For instance, you can set deadlines like I will complete this specific task within this date.
I usually follow this process, and I find it effective. By following this, I get my things done with less procrastination.
2) You have to emphasize the urgency of your deadlines
If you think about your next deadline and how much time you have left to finish that specific task. This will remind you of the urgency of completing the task and will encourage you to complete it on time.
3) Thinking about the consequences of not completing the tasks
For instance, what will be the negative consequences if you don’t finish your task according to the deadline. I usually use this approach in terms of my research writing progress. Every month, we are required to show our research progress of writing within deadline and get corrections from our super supervisor. If we don’t show any research writing, we don’t get the corrections, thus we will be one month behind in our research progress.
4) Planning and organizing the task you want to complete
If you plan and organize how you are going to complete the task, it will save you a lot of time and hassle.
If you are a student and you have to study for an upcoming test, plan and organize how you are going to cover your study materials. Then decide how much you will spend on each material. In this way, you will not be wasting your time by thinking about what and how you are going to study.
